Hello guys! Today I thought I should write something more scientific to you.So I wondered, and when I step into the kitchen I got this idea.Microwave ovens are very popular among people these days. There will be a huge amount of ads on microwave ovens in the following new year festival. However did you ever wonder about the difference of a microwave oven?
Before all this stuff, you need to understand what a electromagnetic wave is.Let me tell you it in a very simple way.The signals generated by the oscillation between the magnetic and electric field are electromagnetic waves.I don't know whether you understand that. But you need to know what a electromagnetic wave is these days.If you have some knowledge about physics. You'll understand the picture below.
Now you need to know about oscillators. The A.C current has a frequency of 60Hz in Sri Lanka. It may differ from country to country. So when this frequency exceeds 20000Hz,it starts to transmit electromagnetic waves.Microwaves have a frequency of 109 to 11Hz.
Now you need to know about the structure of a water molecule. Here's how a water molecule is made.
This has given the molecule an angle.Like an arrow.
So now you have all the knowledge that you need to know before leaning the work of the microwave oven.
In the microwave oven the A.C current is oscillated to the frequency of microwaves. Then the current is given to two electrodes. The basic structure inside a microwave oven is like this.
And when the electrodes' charge is changed by the oscillator it will look like this.
This is a plate and it is the most expensive part of the microwave oven. This is made with gold, platinum or a with a similar alloy. So when the current is oscillated up to microwave frequency the kinetic energy that is generated when the water molecules change their side is turned into heat. This heat is very high and effective.
The microwave ovens may use few watts when comparing to traditional ovens. It only need few mil-amperes to operate. So as a citizen in 21st century you must change into microwave ovens. They may save your time and money.
I tried my best to write this article simple and descriptive for everyone.Feel free to ask me any questions.
